Privacy Policy

ImageWiper is built to get out of your way — including with your data. We do not collect, sell, or transmit your browsing activity. Your settings live on your own device.

1. Summary

ImageWiper does not collect personal information.
ImageWiper does not track the pages you visit or the content you view.
All settings are stored locally on your device using your browser's extension storage.
We do not run analytics or advertising trackers in the extension.

2. Information stored on your device

To function, ImageWiper saves a small amount of data locally via chrome.storage.local. This never leaves your device and includes:

Hide/show state — whether media is currently hidden.
Preferences — your placeholder mode and Bandwidth Saver setting.
Usage counter — the number of images you have hidden, used to display your progress toward the free limit.
License status — whether you have unlocked lifetime access.

3. Browser permissions and why we need them

Access to website content (host permissions) — required so the extension can hide images and videos on the pages you choose to use it on. Processing happens locally in your browser.
Storage — to save your preferences and usage counter on your device.
Context menus — to add the right-click "Reveal / Hide this image" options.
Scripting / activeTab — to apply hiding to the active page.
Web navigation — to re-apply your chosen state across frames as a page loads.
declarativeNetRequest — used only when you opt in to "Bandwidth Saver," to block image/video downloads locally. This is off by default and the rules are applied entirely within your browser.

4. Payments

The optional one-time lifetime upgrade is processed by BrowserBill, which uses Stripe for card processing. We never see or store your payment card details. Any data you provide during checkout is handled under BrowserBill's and Stripe's privacy policies.

5. Third parties

The only third party involved is BrowserBill (and its payment processor, Stripe), and only if you choose to purchase the lifetime upgrade. ImageWiper does not share data with anyone else.

6. Children

ImageWiper is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone.

7. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised policy on this page.
